X4040 To By. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} c. BY {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} /RD. EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 1/T23.2.28. ELECTRO MAGNETIC SWITCH. R'S GREEN LAMP SCHEME. In view of Mr. Royce's note RL/M19.2.28, it will be necessary to take up again the instruction of the unit asked for in our EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 2/T22.11.27 which we put in abeyance by our EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 6/T3.1.28, the latter being addressed to BY {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} /C. We propose however to continue with the further experiments on temperature compensation/for which you are having instructed for us two specially wound shunt coil bobbins. On further thought it is evident of course that the temperature compensation difficulty with the auto switch is also equally applicable to the green lamp scheme. Therefore we should now be pleased if instead of instructing the green lamp scheme as originally intended, you would arrange matters so that the experimental shunt coils which are being instructed for the auto switch are also applicable to the green lamp scheme. It will be equally necessary on this scheme for us to find out the suitable amount of series resistance to be wound on the other bobbin to make this scheme also less influenced by temperature variations.
