FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} C. to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 20/25 SYNCHRO MESH GEARBOX. X5310 We send herewith N. sch. 3374, shewing the type of reverse gear shewn on N. sch. 3364, adapted to the present 25HP. synchro mesh gearbox - that is to say - the existing casting can be used if desired, and, for the purposes of experiment, eccentric bushes. There are of course slight modifications to several of the wheels and to the striking mechanism, but the bulk of the box is unaltered. Subsequently should the experiment prove successful the casting would be modified. R.{Sir Henry Royce} wishes this experiment to be carried out as quickly as possible.
