16-G4 Mr. Royce's Car.

We are anxious to prepare this car for R.{Sir Henry Royce} The main points that we have in mind requiring modification are :-

ENGINE. - Simplified centrifugally loaded slipper wheel.
Cast exhaust manifold on the lines of P.1.
Diabolo rubber mounting as now standardised on China.
Support behind the gearbox recently designed.
Protected cylinder block casting (galvanised).
Asbestos valve guide washers. IMPROVED HEAD WATER PASSAGES

RADIATOR.- Larger gap radiator tubes.
Single point radiator mounting.

EXHAUST. - Front expansion box on P.11 lines. Latest type of sliding joint.

ROAD SPRINGS. Latest type of lubricated road springs as standardised.

SHOCK DAMPERS - Improved lubrication to connecting links.

LAMP BRACKETS & WING STAYS. - Improvement to overcome the troubles experienced in France.

If E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} could give us the necessary information re the slipper wheel and manifold, and Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} re. exhaust system, radiator mounting and front wings and lamps, we could push this job along if BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} will let us have the details. We expect that R.{Sir Henry Royce} will be back in a month and the car will have to go back to the coachbuilders for a day or two before he has it.
