To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} [REDACTED] X8205 BY/SS{S. Smith}1/DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}24.9.25. Re 40/50HP Chassis - Oil Relief Valve. Sec:5205. X8205 Mr Bailey's memo BYS/H.12.5.25 confirmed your instructions to use the low pressure valve spring E.72836 on both low and intermediate valves, saying that a pressure of 3½ lbs.per square inch would be obtained at the Inter: valve (supply to rockers) and 1½ lbs. at the low pressure valve (supply to wheelcase gears). The Works have recently been equipped with a rig for testing the relief valves, and cannot obtain the pressure mentioned. We have looked into our figures and find results as given herewith:- Low Pressure - 1 lb.per sq.in. Inter: " - 1.25 lbs.per sq.in. High " - 25 lbs.per sq.in. Will you please confirm these results by test, and say if you agree to the arrangement drawing being altered as above. BY/SS{S. Smith} | ||
