The Penton & Stone people point out that if we use the 1/4" gas thread as a standard fitting for lubricators, the cost could be considerably reduced. We are sending to Mr. Royce a sample of the connection and lubricator in section. They supply lubricators similar to the sample for 2 1/4 d. {John DeLooze - Company Secretary} each. Rd. has given us the cost of 7d. each for the lubricators we are at present using. With our present 5/16th. thread it is not possible for them to use the same construction for holding the spring. They have to drill and insert a pin which does not make such a good job and is more costly. We recommend that all the connections on "Goshawk 11" should be made to suit the Penton & Stone. Lubricators. We also recommend that these lubricators should be standardised on the 40/50 chassis. We are getting out a list of the lubricators we require for the 40/50 chassis.
