47061 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}12/KW. 15th September, 1934. R.{Sir Henry Royce} Summers, Esq., Danna Hall, Burton Point, CHESTER. Dear Dick, I am now in a position to do something to the front end of your car, which I hope will reduce the amount of wing movement. I have the parts ready. At the same time, London have a new set of front wings ready for you and are particularly anxious to have a go at the coachwork. We should like you to be prepared to part with the car for a fortnight, though possibly we shall be able to get it back to you in less than this. I know it is unpleasant for you to have to lose the car, but I think in justice to the firm you should meet us in this respect. For one thing Evernden is a little upset because he says he has really had no chance to tackle the body as he would like. He says that the car comes in in the morning and has to be out at night. Would you ring me up on Monday and tell me what you can arrange ? I am sorry to have been so long in getting ready for your car, but I wanted to be certain I could make an improvement. Kind regards to Mrs. Summers, Yours sincerely, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
