X2677 To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/AD24.8.32. We send you herewith details of performance of the A.C. petrol pump large type. This appears to be about ideal for our Phantom II requirements. It will suck from a dry pipe line with its own filter in 28 secs. as against our present pump with reduced size of Zenith filter in 1 min. 20 secs. with the engine turning at about the slowest speed at which it will start i.e. 40 R.P.M. We are going to circulate a report to R.{Sir Henry Royce} recording the latest difficulties we have run into with our own pump and giving him the performance of this latest A.C. model.
