c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. [Redacted] c. [Redacted] 8447/1. Rg{Mr Rowledge}2/DM.{D. Munro} RECEIVED 1931 FEB 20 February 19th 1931. The Secretary, Air Ministry, Adastral House, Kingsway. W.C.2. For the attention of Captain Forsyth R.D.E.2.b. Dear Sir, Negretti and Zambra Transmitting Oil Pressure Gauge. As promised when Captain Forsyth visited us on Wednesday at Derby, we are sending you herewith a print of Des.1412 showing a suggested improvement to the engine end of the above unit. We do not like the banjo fixing, as there is nothing to prevent the rotation of the box containing the capsule at the engine end of the unit. Generally, we think this particular piece could be greatly improved if the design was thoroughly investigated and made into a more satisfactory fitting, particularly for new designs of engines. Probably the nicest way to deal with this job would be to bolt the disc on to a flat face. We should be glad to hear whether any improvements to this fitting can be arranged. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS ROYCE LTD. | ||
