Mr. Platford informs us that the shock absorbers he took with him he has handed to R.R. Inc. of America, per Mr. Caswell, for him to fix when trying a car where there is a complaint of springs. [Handwritten insertion: we advise you of this] owing to the fact that the shock absorbers were supplied from your Dept.

P.S. EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} writes in a later memo. that he has himself taken the shock absorbers to Springfield, together with thin leaf springs for fitting to the American trials car 22-LW.
