We have had one or two cases recently where Stromberg carburetters have jammed their chokes in the closed position, due to back-firing. When the choke is jammed the car, of course, is completely out of action. We think this is a very serious fault of the Stromberg carburetter, and should like you to undertake an investigation to see what we can do to overcome the fault. We think the investigation should follow two lines:- (1) To see if we can get a choke sufficiently strong to stand up to back-firing. (2) To see if a blow-off valve in the choke can be made sufficiently large to prevent damage. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
