-2- RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/EG.1/DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions} 25.6.37. I had a rejected cam re-ground on bearing diameters and am hope ful it will be useable after the thrust face is corrected of roller bearings. This cam will be despatched to uson Friday. Seven 25/30 Cams will be despatched tomorrow and 10 to 15 on Monday and a further 25 in a weeks time. The Works are closing on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next for stock taking, and I stressed the importance of keeping these promises and sparing no effort to improve upon them. I have demonstrated to these people on two PH.111 Cams marked 1 and 2, tried before and after hardening, that the thread has developed an out of truth error of approximately .003" in the case of No.1 cam, and approximately .002 on No.2 cam. The error on No.1 is detrimental to successful operation (but is possibly useable), whilst the error on No.2 cam is unimportant. I suspect the broaching makes the thread out of round but have not been able to prove this yet. RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/EG. | ||
