R.{Sir Henry Royce} FROM E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} C. to BJ. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} X5050 E2/M15.3.28. INDIA CHASSIS - ARRANGEMENT OF CYL. HEAD AND INDUCTION PIPE. Please find attached blueprint of LeC. 2527. dealing with the above. This proposal corresponds to Proposition (3) in our memo. E1/M15.3.28. In scheming in the sparking plug it was necessary to find a position which would clear the ignition tower, and at the same time the tower has been reduced .875" in height (by shortening the drive) with a view to clearing the plug. It is intended that the induction pipe is permanently assembled to the cylinder head, but provision is made for its removal if required for any reason. The position of carburetter shewn is about .125 lower, and .250 further out than the present 20HP. Drawings will follow shewing sketches of alternative induction pipes for Proposition (4) of memo. E1/M15.3.28. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
