File 423 WYMAN BENTLEY 111. EXHAUST SYSTEM. Herewith is E.CD.468 shewing the proposed oval front expansion box giving clearance with the torque arm bearing of the front suspension. The capacity of the expansion box is practically identical with present Bentley 11. Modifications are shewn to the water and oil pipes, which are also applicable to Wraith 111, but the principal modification is to the crankcase vent pipe. We have alternative schemes for this, but should like the one shewn here to be made for inspection. We also send E.CD.483 shewing the exhaust piping at the rear of the front expansion box, modified to suit. We have shewn one flanged joint to prevent rotation of the elbow pipe. These two drawings require detailing and issuing. ---------- ✓ ✓ ✓ We also send E.CD.154, 456 and 473, which shew some alternative constructions which are not intended to be proceeded with now. These are sent for record and filing purposes only. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
