re Prop. Shaft Centre Bearing.
Senior Range.

Attached to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH's. copy of this memo. is PL.283 which is a complete scheme for the revised rubber mounting of the centre bearing of the prop. shaft for the cars of the Senior Range.

The design is based on the project by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} scheme No.PL.243 from which little departures have been made.

The scheme PL.283 shows two arrangements of the project. There is a final scheme where the sliding joint is in the back of the gearbox and a new stationary prop. shaft is used.

There is also a temporary scheme where by the sliding joint remains at the axle and both the fixed and moving prop. shafts are unaltered.

We have made this latter scheme to enable the design of bearing to be tried on any of the existing cars.
