Dear Sirs, We are returning to you under separate cover the eight couplings which you submitted to us for test some little time ago. You will observe that two of these couplings have shown a life which far exceeds that of the remainder. We ourselves have no knowledge as to the respective ingredients of the couplings - they all appear to be marked with different letters. You yourselves, however, will undoubtedly be able to ascertain the exact composition of the couplings which have been successful and we should like to have your remarks on them in due course and for you to let us know whether the results are consistent. Our own experience has been that we often get couplings made to the same specification which have widely different lives and possibly yours are no exception to this rule.
