SHOCK DAMPERS.

Following the seizure of the shafts in the bearings, presumably due to 'overtightening', the bolts, solid shafts were fitted, and the clearances between the shafts and the bearings increased to .001".

Controls set so that levers were definitely clear of plungers in "soft" position, and .015" off stops in "hard" position.

LeC.3184. PETROL PUMP.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}920/1 diaphragm washers were fitted to allow greater flexibility of "single ply" bladder + A.C. Fabric diaphragm. This necessitated the inclusion of Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}923 packing washer. The arrangement of these details is shown in Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}924.

A delivery curve (attached) was taken on the rig with a 12 ft. ½" diameter pipe line, before fitting to the engine.

It is interesting to note that the maximum pressure remained constant throughout the speed range, whereas prior to fitting the above details the maximum pressures varied slightly.

N.B. Please amend G'H' specification as above. Detailed worksheet already sent to RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}
