We send herewith N. scheme 2238. shewing the proposed wings we will fit to this car as soon as we are allowed to have it at the coachbuilders. We suggest that if there is any danger of breaking the secrecy regulations the spare wheel carrier should be removed before it goes to the coachbuilders. We propose sending this drawing to Barkers' and asking them to make us some drawings of the wings as they propose to make them. We shall then send you a sketch of suitable wing stays for carrying the dipping lamps, which we shall put close together and high up. Would HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} tell us whether it is intended to fit a 58" axle track in the front; and if so, we might slightly widen the front wings. We believe Derby have already designed for step-irons, placing the runningboards level with the top of the frame. Would they kindly confirm this?
