ROYCE+ X8992 From the information we have at present, R.{Sir Henry Royce} requires 7-EX car to meet him at Toulon on December the 15th. This means that the car should cross over not later than the 10th. There is a certain amount of work for Barkers to do on the coach-work which will take them at least 2 days. After you have fitted the new parts (a list of which are given below) we shall require the car for at least 2 or 3 days for testing. Therefore we should like you to have all your work completed by Dec. 5th. We recommend that we arrange to have the spare wheel carrier and luggage grid parts black enamelled before they are put on the car. We do not think there will be any time for the coachbuilders to do them. The parts which are required to be fitted to 7-EX are as follows :- (1) Spare wheel carrier at the rear. (2) Luggage grid to suit. (3) Thermometer with electrical contact for operating warning light. The dial on the present thermometer should be fitted to the new one. (4) Spring loaded cross steering tube. (5) Latest side steering tube and springs. (6) Switch on instrument board to cut out magneto ignition. (7) Ball bearing governor shaft. (8) Roller bearing throttle and alum. body. (9) Modified carburetter controls. (10) Altered throttle angle. (11) Latest ignition relay. (12) Make top hot-spot pipe tighten up on its seating - at present the nut is too long. (13) Dampers fitted to front wheel brake drums. (14) Reduced front braking.
