We attach hereto Blue Print Wks.298 shewing a simplified method of reverse catch operation which is applicable to all Chassis. The primary object of this alteration is to delete the lower return plunger which seizes when loaded with dust, but in addition we should have an estimated saving in factory cost of 2/9d. per Chassis. The Gear Lever is at present produced in S/ZN. having hardened operating slots, but it is considered this should be quite satisfactory in U.B.A.S. which would effect a further reduction of 7d. in material cost. We should be glad if these modifications could be issued experimentally for 10,000 Miles Test on Bentley Chassis as soon as possible, with the object of introduction on all types of Chassis. RHC{R.
