A 121 D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} R.{Sir Henry Royce} CO., LTD. SHEET NO. 2. 30th April, 1934. Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd. DERBY. We consider that for the test a hole made in this manner is preferable to a straight drilled hole with an ordinary twist in it. In taking the temperatures, the load should be lifted from the wheel and 1-2 minutes allowed to elapse between lifting the load and the taking of the temperature permitting a certain amount of heat dissipation. If a range of temperatures on these lines could be submitted to us we could then advise you for what period tests could be run, and the cooling time necessary. We feel at the commencement that - At 250 revs. temperature should be taken at 20-30 min. intervals. " 380 to 545 r.p.m. -do- 10-15 -do- Yours faithfully; FOR THE DUNLOP RUBBER CO.LIMITED. H.C.
