Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Expl: No. Ref. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/LG2.2.26. ORIGINAL 20 HP: CHASSIS. X5430 X5770 We have an experimental 20 HP! chassis on test which is fitted with a steering having the larger worm and slower pitch. The steering is a definite improvement over the present standard 20 HP. The pedals on this car are the latest type moved forward, and the steering column has been shortened. There is however considerable movement on the steering wheel when going over a rough road. We think that the 20 HP. dash should be stiffened in the same way as the latest design EAC. dashboard. We shall have a 20 HP! car running with all the new parts fitted mentioned in your memo. FL/M29.1.26. in about 2 weeks, except Item 2. We will arrange that this car goes to Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence as soon as it crosses over to France. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
