600. To Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} c. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}1/MH.{M. Huckerby}5.6.39. WEEK-END RUN - 25.G.VI. This car will soon degenerate into the category of 6.B.IV. unless various things are put right. The side shake of the scuttle and steering wheel is now much worse than any other car in the Garage. The engine will not tick over when hot. One half of the petrol pump has ceased working. The nearside rear tyre which apparently was once on a front wheel, is very noisy. After a long, continuous ascent in 2nd. gear the gearbox suddenly became very noisy, and on reaching the top of the hill, although the noise became less, it is below its previous standard. It is possible that the oil level in the box was too low for the constant mesh gears to have adequate lubrication on a steep hill. Mis-firing occurs at low speeds, but this may be due to too rich a mixture, which would also spoil the slow running. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} | ||
