I have instructed I. Waller to take 3.B.IV. to Paris for Brakes and Slipper Wheel. Paris can also attend to the brake leverages which are apparently wrong.

35-EX.

I agree with you that a slip up in the machining must have taken place. It has taken Paris two weeks to do that axle. I think we shall have to ask Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} to write to them to the effect that these cars are more urgent than customers'.

With regard to the Water Pump on 35-EX, on the final test at Derby squeak developed, and I had Warwick dismantle the pump and he could find nothing wrong, only that the vanes were touching lightly, evidently the thrust bush had not been pressed home. This may be the same with Owners' cars that have had a similar complaint. It may be as well if the design is looked into, to see if there is any snag why the bush is not getting pushed into its correct position.
