Bentley Chassis Electrical Equipment.

The following notes record results of discussion of the above between EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} By/RD and E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}

The points raised in memos EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}3/WT.15.8.33 and By.4/W.24.8.33 were discussed.

(a) Petrol Pipes to Petrol Gauge.

This point is dealt with in By.4/W.24.8.33 and requires no discussion.

(b) Stop Lamp Switch.

The position for the stop lamp switch on the bottom of the well it was agreed is open to the objection that the switch is somewhat too exposed and too low down. It was arranged that Derby would endeavour to find a position for the Butler switch underneath the front floorboards, and apply this to the first 15 chassis, but if this was found to be too difficult, in view of the amount of time available, the switch would be fitted in the side of the frame opposite the rear foot wells, but in an inclined position at EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}'s suggestion, to avoid the oblique pull owing to the angle of the connection with the brake ropes. The forward position of the switch is favoured and will be used with the Rolls-Royce design of stop lamp switch because it ensures the least possible delay in warning the following car as there is no loss of movement due to the scissors levers of the brake gear. We are assuming that the top lamp switch will be included in the charge for lamps as heretofore, but that chassis will be delivered from Derby fitted with a suitable bracket for carrying the switch.
When we come to the Rolls-Royce design of stop lamp switch we are assuming that this will be included as a part of the chassis at no extra charge.

(c) Body Lighting Junction Box.

It is agreed that wiring instructions should be
