BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Copy to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ORIGINAL DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/M3. 3.28. re. CAST DASH ON 12-EX. X8500 47500 The cast dash on 12-EX. was not of the sports type, but was we believe the original cast dash, only modified to enable the central lubrication fittings etc to be used. We should like to point out that the sports cast dash is modified as to the shape alongside the accelerator pedal to give more room for the foot, which was found to be necessary, and was instructed by R.{Sir Henry Royce} We think it will be very necessary to have a cast dash made which is like the sports car in every respect except for the steering column fixing, for which a boss should be provided like that on the original cast dash.
