For the attention of Mr. Thacker.

Dear Sirs,

A few months ago, when Mr. Fowler Clark was with us, you paid us a visit and brought with you a Lucas Alto horn partly dismantled so that the operation of the horn and the note characteristic could be investigated with a view to helping you in the production of a suitable H.F. type horn for use on the R.R. chassis.

We regret that we have not been able to do anything in the matter at our end, and we wonder if you will now have this horn back again. If, however, you care to have it brought up-to-date and representative of the latest type Alto horn, we should be pleased to fit it to one of our experimental chassis for test and let you have a report at a later date for the information of your technical staff.

As we have no records of purchasing this horn, we should be glad if you would kindly confirm that same was loaned to us.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
