I have been looking forward to seeing some drawings or comments on the criticisms I made about Peregrine drain cock, and suspension.

I think I suggested that the drain cock could be either quick taper, not touching the bottom, or slow taper resting on bakelite or other suitable washer. By putting it in from the top it will be noticed that the guard over the exit can be a very simple thing, and permanently caulked on the plug, or dropped on a square, and a tight steel ring pressed down upon it, and adjusted by bending.

Since writing the above I have seen the drawing. (Lec. 3279.) of the front suspension for the engine. This seems quite O.K., and should go ahead to a more finished design. Some of the strengths look out of proportion - i.e.

(1) Studs in radiator supports too small in diameter, and should be bolts if possible.

(2) Bolt through friction pressure plates might be smaller in diameter.

(3) Sheet metal pressing looks on the heavy side.
