KT044 622 Copy. c. Sq. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} By HWC. Sft.{Mr Swift} E.1/HP.25.1.36. Wraith II Chassis Front End. The policy decided of making Wraith II front suspension on exactly similar lines as regards principle of operation to Phantom III has tied our hands to some extent on the question of cost reduction for this chassis, but we have nevertheless produced a scheme which without departing from the aforementioned principle has certain changes in the method of construction, which we believe will reduce cost and improve the handling of the assembly in the Works. These changes should simplify the front end of the chassis frame, and enable the front suspension to be produced and assembled independently as a unit which can afterwards be attached to the chassis frame proper. I am putting up these schemes for general consideration so that we can get the views of all concerned. It is as has been emphasised before vital that we should keep down the production charges on this chassis to the minimum, consistent with achieving our object, and I believe this scheme as we have it at the moment will be found a material advance in this respect.
