PHANTOM AND OTHER VALVES. X.8060 X.2764.

Very surprised after so many years to hear so seriously of valve seat trouble in cast iron and wrought steel.
(1) What is the experience of others?
(2) My Phantom after 7000 miles does not seem to have altered at all.
(3) Can lubrication oil in Silver Ghost improve it?
(4) Would cutting the cams away in aero engines so as to run with .020" clearance prevent running with too little clearance: we intended this at one time?
(5) Are engines with inserted valve seats (say Lions and air-cooled) any better: if so which material?
(6) Many times I have feared it was due to lift path being curved.
