LOCKING OF FLYWHEEL NUTS.

Referring to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}8/KW.9.1.34. we are somewhat reluctant to introduce a different method of locking on a part which has proved itself to be extremely difficult from the point of view of keeping the flywheel tight, without some running to justify us making the change.

We agree that on the face of it everything looks satisfactory, but as the bolt itself is expanded [Handwritten: ix] internally in the operation of rolling over the end I would like some test running to be done on experimental cars before making the change.

We do not wish to test to destruction, but we think running under difficult conditions which showed up the original faulty riveting might be similarly tried in this case.
