W/S - Bly.{B. W. Bleaney - Bentley Sales} 47961 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}10/KW.6.11.34. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Thompson, Esq. We saw this gentleman last week-end. Though he has not yet decided through which Agent to place his order, he will sign an Order Form if you will send it to him leaving the matter of the Supplier open, subject to the following points being dealt with - (1) There is a very sharp hump-backed bridge on the road leading to part of his property which he uses daily. Every Bentley I have so far shown him scrapes its exhaust pipe on this bridge. He wants your assurance that the car he has will not do this. This point can be dealt with by fitting springs with more initial camber and raising the sprung weight of the car one inch. No design is required for this, and it can be dealt with by By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} as an ordinary routine job. (2) He would like an outside petrol filler, a side spare wheel carrier, and the back exactly as on Lappin's car 4-B-IV. He has not yet entirely decided the details of the body he is having. (3) The maximum amount of room between the steering wheel and the seat. Presumably he could have the same treatment as Mr. Fairey. I should like to know what chassis has been allotted to him, and when it is likely to be delivered to the Coachbuilders.
