Dear Sirs,

With reference to your letter of September 5th, advising us of the return of 524 KR3 plugs, we beg to confirm our telephone conversation of this afternoon.

We have picked out haphazard, a number of plugs from this consignment, and we find in a number of cases the central point projects 1/64", while in a smaller number, the points project less than 1/64". We have not found any that materially project more than 1/64". We think, therefore, it was unnecessary to return these plugs, and shall be glad to hear from you that we may send them back. We have sent you today, per parcel post, a dozen typical samples.

The projecting point, provided it is within reason, is not the cause of trouble on your engines, as was proved by tests carried out by your Mr.Hives. The plugs that cause trouble are those in which the mica washers inside the plugs are slightly loose, and therefore there is no reason to be
