To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} for Mr Allis from St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} Bt{Capt. J. S. Burt - Engineer}2/DB{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}31716. July 31st, 1916. RE X.2219 - HAND STARTING MAGNETO. We give below an extract from one of Mr Royce's memos and shall be glad if you will arrange accordingly, under the above X number:- "Referring to the hand magneto getting filled up with oil, this seems entirely a simple failure that should be put right without much brain fag; there is already shewn two drain holes:- 1. See that these exist. 2. Make them larger because the only oil that can get into the magneto must come through viz:- Three contracted areas shown .005" clear, so surely we can let out what passes three restrictions in series - if still any trouble fit felt in one."
