Modifications to the starter mechanism for the American chassis.

X.3683. RE STARTER FOR AMERICAN CHASSIS.

Referring to the controlling mechanism of the above schemes of which we have sent you, would you kindly note that we shall require to displace the control rod from the pedal shaft to the lay shaft under the fottboards sideways, a distance of approximately .750" further from the centre of the car for the purpose of clearing the rear exhaust box on the engine.

This will require the addition of a simple lever to the aforementioned lay shaft, and the use of a simple stamped horse-shoe control lever for the sliding pinion, in place of the present construction.

Would you kindly incorporate these features in dealing with the drawings we have sent - LeC.1155/9.
