Effect of using longer duration inlet camshafts. Rollerless rocker type E.30006. TESTER. V.Halliwell. CONDITIONS. Engine RR.F.10-10. SUMMARY OF TEST. We have carried out some comparative tests using a modification of the existing (rollerless rocker) camshafts E.30006/7. On the modified camshafts the inlet closing position was 12° later than in the case of the 'standard' (E.30006/7) camshafts, the exhaust timing and inlet opening position remaining the same. The attached curves show that there is a slight advantage (2 or 3 HP.) at 2250 r.p.m. which increases at the higher speeds when using the modified camshafts. The two curves cross at 2200 r.p.m., below this speed the power with the modified camshafts is slightly lower than with the standard. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/V.Halliwell. | ||
