X4607 Expl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}4/MJ. Sept. 1st.1930. Messrs. Gallay Radiator Co. Ltd., 103-105, Scrubbs Lane, Willesden, LONDON.N.W.10. Dear Sirs, We are much indebted to you for sending us the two small sample portions of radiator. We are returning one of these to you herewith, and are keeping the other for reference purposes. We are sending to you under separate cover one of our standard radiators. We should be obliged if you would remove the matrix from this radiator and substitute one of your own, as per sample submitted. Will you then please return the altered radiator, together with our matrix at your earliest convenience. We are interested in the possible increased efficiency of this radiator, but are apprehensive as to the difficulty of repairing it should it spring a leak from corrosion or other form of penetration. We are therefore doubtful whether there is much chance of us adopting this form of construction. In view of this fact we should like you to quote us a figure to cover your cost for carrying out the job. At the same time it would be of interest to know at what figure you could supply matrices for our radiators in bulk. Naturally, we wish to proceed with the tests with all possible speed and should be obliged if you would expedite the job as far as possible. Yours faithfully, For Rolls-Royce Ltd. | ||
