RE. FITTING MAGNETO & DRIVE TO 10,000 MILES PRODUCTION CHASSIS - NO. 412.

We do not propose fitting a Magneto to this car.

We think it would be a mistake for us to pull this car to bits to fit these parts. We have got to specially guard against this car being treated as an experimental car.

We do not propose altering or modifying the car in the least degree from the way in which we have received it from the Test Dept. We think the whole value of the test will be spoilt if we start pulling the car to pieces.

We do not consider it is essential that this car should be fitted with a Magneto. The greater percentage of the cars we are delivering to customers have no Magnetos, so the car in its present state, represents more closely the average 20 HP. production car.

We do not need to run with the present standard Magneto and Drive - we know its weaknesses and it is because of those weaknesses we are struggling to get on the improved magneto scheme as soon as possible.
