To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} x8685 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/LG24. 9.26. IGNITION GOVERNOR. X 8685 X7685 We find that the relay which we have just been testing for 7-EX is very different from that which we have previously fitted to 12-EX and which was reasonably satisfactory. The main difference appears to be in the spring loading and governor weights. The following are readings which we obtained on 12-EX governor :- (1) Load to bring weights together ------- 7 lbs. 8 ozs. (2) Load to let weights separate -------- 5 lbs. (3) Load to just start to lift lever from the zero position ------------ 12 ozs. Will you please see if the governor for 7-EX can be made to correspond as near as possible with these figures. At present the maximum spring loading is 15% too light. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
