A set of new Hall's metal main bearings and liners together with a set of new connecting rods with Hall's metal big ends were fitted to this car on the 1.9.36. Please refer to our reports WHA2/ET.26.8.36 and WHA1/ET.27.8.36. At the time we fitted the above bearings, we left the joint faces of the upper and lower main bearings, so that they stood proud or were higer by .001" than the corresponding liner faces of the crankcase and the bearing caps. We did this so as to get a pinch on the bearing and in order to try and prevent them fidgeting.

In addition to the above mentioned modifications, we have fitted the front and rear aluminium brake drums and special brake linings which you sent us.

As soon as we are in a position to do so, we will send you a report as to the results obtained on test.

P.S. The Hall's metal main bearings as fitted on the 1.9.36 were finished by hand scraping, as we then did not possess a Martell reamer.
