The first armature of this type was made about a year ago. Preliminary tests on the bench and on Test Dept chassis proved well in the matter of silence. A comparative test was run in carcase no. 1143 (which was received for more investigation) in which the curve obtained with a standard armature was plotted with that of a 28 slot armature at 80°C. The results (shown on sheet attached) indicated that it should be possible to interchange the armatures without appreciably altering the characteristics of the machine, though in this case, the main brushes being at 4° retard from the (Cont'd) Signed This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
