Referring to GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}'s memo from Kingsbury dated 4.5.37, a mistake has occurred in the reproduction of GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}'s original and sketch which accompanies the above memo is incorrect. A correct sketch which agrees with the text of GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}'s remarks re choking of water holes is attached.

We would point out, however, that the particular holes which GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} says are blocked up are expected to be so, since the cylinder head is not drilled to correspond with them and in fact no water passes through them. With regard to the holes at the rear of the block - unless any evidence is available of definite blocking of these holes we do not think that choking is likely to occur at this point since the water pressure has a constant clearing effect.

We are not in a position at the moment to give a cure for the formation of the corrosion product which tends to choke up small passages etc., but are carrying out tests towards this end.
