Serial No. 26 October 19, 1940 Mr. W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham Rolls Royce, Ltd. Derby, England Re: Machine Tool Report Dear Mr. Robotham: With reference to the present delivery position of machine tools on order in this country, we are sending you herewith, four copies of our latest report dated October 16, 1940, which is further to our report dated August 22, sent with our letter of August 31. So far as our records are concerned, we show only four remaining machines undelivered for Rolls-Royce, Ltd., Derby, Crewe, and Glasgow; but Mr. Blackstone advises that there is approximately 120 machines still undelivered. It is possible that some of the machines which we show as being shipped are in transit or still on the docks at New York, awaiting ship space or export license. We are checking this and expect to have information on the status of machines shipped from the plants of the suppliers since the middle of August, and will advise you. On the other hand, we are of the opinion that it is possible that a number of orders have been placed on which we have no information. The last orders we received for use in following and expediting shipments were sent to us with Mr. Percival's letter, dated February 24, 1940. We have asked Mr. Blackstone to check this and would appreciate receiving copies of orders placed in this country since that time, showing the agent to vendor order numbers to enable us to expedite them immediately. Yours very truly, ROLLS ROYCE, INC. Ray MacArthur jr{Mr James Royce} | ||
