Hg2/LGS.3.21.

With reference to your memo. EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}24/F2.3.21. Your experience with the Bosch Magneto confirms our own experience and experience of R.R. Springfield. The U.S.A. Z86 Bosch Magneto is equally good in efficiency to the German Bosch Magneto. This has been proved by experience on Cars and by tests carried out by EFC.

The improved "Watford" Magnetos (E.O.6. type) will not give as good a performance as the German or the U.S.A. Bosch Magnetos. The only advantage with the E.O.6. over the present standard "Watford" Magneto, is that it will give a better spark when the magneto contact breaker is retarded.
This advantage would be chiefly appreciated if an engine only had one ignition, it would then be a very much better Magneto for starting up.
