1175 Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/BA. 3rd January. 1940. Messrs. Leyland Motors Ltd. Leyland. Lancs. Dear Pilkington, Many thanks for your letter together with enclosed details of the Cub engine. Would it be possible for me to come and see how the oil consumption of this engine compares with the oil consumption of the cast iron unit at the same margin, also whether there is any measured distance in the "blow-by". What I am really after is whether the running of the engine gives any indication that the Cylinders are going out of round. If you could let me know when the engine is stripped I would come up to see it at Leyland and so save you the trouble of sending it down to Derby. Please do not trouble to send the block to Derby as I can get all the information I want when I see the engine stripped. Yours sincerely, | ||
