Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/McS. c. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Cr.{Mr Cra???ster / Mr Chichester} B.III SPECIFICATION. As requested by Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}, attached is a list of the items which should be included in B.III specification when making up the up-to-date LOP'S. (1) Radiator & Shutters. No LOP at present available - new one should be generally to PD.164, PD.165, PD.171, PD.250 and should agree with the Marston made radiator which Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. has submitted for D.O. inspection. (2) Fan. Generally to SCD.571, but with B.II blades, flange and drive ratio as per SCD.807. (3) Water Pump. As wraith generally but modified to SCD.861. (4) Water Pump Drive. As Wraith. (5) Water Connections. To suit latest B.III radiator mentioned above, and thermostat scheme (involves two moulded rubber connections). (6) Bonnet. Rover type modified - being schemed at the moment by Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/JD.{J. Draper - Frames} (7) Starting Handle. As instructed already for the B.III cars already built to PD.180, but modified in accordance with FCD.844. (8) Undersheets. As sample set being made up by Experimental Dept. - no scheme available. All the above with the exception of (6) and the radiator shell to PD.250 in (1), will be on 8.B.V. car which is to run 15,000 miles in France. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. | ||
