3449 To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to MX.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/MJ.28.1.31. NOISY OIL PUMPS. We believe you are aware that RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} has recently found a cure for noisy oil pumps. This cure is simple, and consists of a small chamber to provide a capacity on the suction side of the pump. MX.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} has tried several of these and found that they have completely cured even the worst of noisy oil pumps. We are sending a Standardisation Sheet round for this part but we strongly recommend that we should anticipate this feature and fit it on to all the left-hand cars. In fact, we would recommend that it is fitted to all cars as soon as they are available. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
