Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Craster's figures do not agree with yours. Can we explain difference.

re Silver Phantom Enclosed Limousine.

We have made an investigation of the available room on various chassis, past and present, for accommodating an enclosed limousine body, the results are shewn on the attached chart.

It will be seen that the dimension between the bottom of the steering wheel and the front of the rear cushions on Silver Phantom is slightly greater than the corresponding dimensions on the "C" type Silver Wraith.

It is therefore, ridiculous of Mr. Ward to state that the Silver Phantom Enclosed Limousine as drawn on PD.298 could not be sat in.

We agree that the dimension is less than that of Phantom III which is around 61".

You will recall that in the design of the Silver Phantom, it was your desire that the body should not be greater than that on Silver Wraith, in order that the 6 cylinder engine version should have a reasonable performance.

I firmly recollect a visit to Park Ward to approve the full size drawing of 30.G.VII in which it was agreed as a result of pressure from Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} that the rear seat should be moved back a matter of X", the amount of which I have forgotten and of which there is no written record. This was done without increasing the overall length of the body at the waist line but was achieved to the best of my knowledge by hardening up the shape of the rear quarter.

There are only 2 ways of solving the mystery.

The first is to find the full size drawing of 30.G.VII, and the second is to find the almost completed body for 31.G.VII.

Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}
