Proposal to use stainless steel for valves and seats to prevent oil pressure failure from foreign matter.

| contd :- -2- from the face joint due to dirt getting between the face joint, also there is a danger of grit getting in the bottom half of crank case through the release holes during the cleaning process. We had to do this job twice on our return journey from Chateauroux(French test region) to Derby. We should like to propose that the valves and seats be made up of stainless steel with a narrow seat mixor so that any foreign matter that may cause an oil pressure failure would be more easily washed away and not jam in the valve seat. The size of the foreign matter that has caused the oil pressure to drop would not, in our opinion, do any harm if it were dislodged and carried through with the oil.
