-2- Oy23-E-11225 November 2nd, 1925. the actual temperature of the water round No. 6 cylinder. Contrasting the water distribution on the Phantom with the Silver Ghost, and considering its detachable head as compared with the clear jacket on the Silver Ghost it seems quite probable that the rear cylinder can be overheated when the general water temperature is only 75° C. If I could get your earnest and confidential opinion as the result of any tests you may have made on the proposal to deliver the water opposite No.6 cylinder, I think that without waiting for further experimental work, I would get our first castings made in such a way that the inlet could be opposite No.4 or No.6, before the metal patterns are started, so that we may do all we can to get rid of this trouble before we go too far in production. If you tell me that the suggestion is N.G. I will shut up and get on with the job. Please let me have a reply as soon as possible. Yours very truly, Maurice Olley MO/E | ||
