X3646. Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} from EFC. EFC1/AD18.6.30. X.3646. RECTIFYING VALVE. FOR INSULATION TESTING. The information that you have received from The Edison Swan Electric Co. (incorporating the B.T.H. Co.) and Messrs. Philips Lamps Ltd. concerning a rectifying valve suitable for our purposes, shews that they have nothing to offer us which is at all suitable. In the circumstances our only course is to order from the G.E.Co. a further type U.3. valve which, although not entirely suitable can be made, by judicious use, to serve our purposes for a considerable period. Will you therefore place an order with the G.E.Co. for another such valve referring them to their letter V/HB{C. E. Harcombe}/466. of April 26th last paragraph, and stating that as we have been quite unable to obtain a valve more suitable than their standard U.3. our only course is to order another such valve from themselves. Apparently the reference to a U.8. valve in their last paragraph is an error for U.3. EFC. | ||
